An 8-week summer program designed to provide high school students with laboratory experience by pairing them with mentors to conduct research projects and allow them to attend training sessions and events to further enrich students in translational medicine and biomedical research.

Students will receive a stipend of $1,200
At MSK’s main campus on the Upper East Side
No housing or transportation is provided
Open to rising high school sophomores, rising high school juniors, and rising high school seniors
Applicants should have a minimum science GPA of 3.5

Applied Research Innovations in Science and Engineering (ARISE)

A 7-week program that provides students with research and laboratory experience in subjects such as engineering, life sciences, or computer/data sciences, mentoring by NYU graduate students, and college advising.
Additional Information:
5 weeks of research in NYU labs
2 weeks of workshopping in science topics and college advising to prepare students for the college application process
Students will also receive public speaking and presentation training
Expected commitment of Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm
Students will receive a stipend of $750

Columbia University Science Honors Program

A 12-week program that takes place during the academic school year which provides high school students with classes in science courses spanning physical, chemical, biological, behavioral, and computing sciences.
Additional Information:
Annual tuition of $600 for new students (can be waived)
Classes are held every Saturday from 10 am to 12:30 pm
Admitted students who are in good standing can continue the program until their high school graduation
Open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors living within 75 miles of Columbia University’s main campus
Applicants must take a 2-hour entrance examination containing math and science questions
Application materials include a $50 application fee, submitting a transcript, 1 letter of recommendation, and 1 essay question regarding interests in science and math
Sophie Davis Health Professions Mentorship Program

A 2-year program designed for students interested in pursuing a career in the health field, with the first year focusing on population health community-based projects and the second focusing on presentations and seminars relating to health issues.

Students are expected to live on campus or commute from a relative’s home

A 10-week program for high school students to learn from health professionals and physicians at Weill Cornell Medicine through anatomy labs and workshops. Students are mentored by medical students who guide them through the college application, writing college essays, resumes, and research papers.
Additional Information:
Program is held every Friday afternoon beginning in January
The students with the best college essay and research paper are each awarded a $250 book scholarship for college
Letters of recommendation and certificates will be given to participants who successfully complete the program

A 10-week program where undergraduate college students can enhance their knowledge of medical research and biology through hands-on laboratory work under the mentorship of faculty members in disciplines such as Biochemistry and Structural Biology, Cell and Developmental Biology, Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Physiology, Biophysics, & Systems Biology, and Computational Biology and Medicine.

Students will analyze scientific journals, attend lectures, and prepare written reports to orally present
Students will receive a stipend of $4,000 and $500 for travel expenses
Free on-campus housing is provided for students outside of NYC
