What is STEM The Tide?

STEM the Tide is a series of fundraiser events designed to give students in underserved and underfunded areas better access to STEM education. Together, we will stem the tide against education inequality!

STEM THE TIDE collected hundreds of sneakers in Westchester County, NY, the funds of which have been used to purchase whiteboards for the ICT center and digital library for girls in Kenya. We hope that with these whiteboards, these students will continue to nurture their voices, creativity, collaboration and growth in STEM.

ICT CENTER AND DIGITAL LIBRARY FOR GIRLS IN KENYAWhile progress has been made through policy to establish gender equality, poverty and education disparities still play a big role in stifling government efforts. Girls, particularly those from marginalized areas, still struggle to access higher education. Our Project in Mathare, Nairobi Kenya teaches vulnerable girls from low-income areas skills in Graphics design,website design and coding.During their free time they access the digital library and read books to enhance their knowldege.
